Professional pilot training course basically involves the ground training and the flight training. Ground Training covers all the theory subjects like Air regulation ,Air navigation, Aviation meteorology ,Technical General and Technical Specific. There are exams conducted by different governing Aviation authorities in different countries on the same subjects which the candidates need to clear for attaining his CPL license. For the flight training the candidate has to complete 1500 hours of flight time to attain ATPL license , will also have to pass a couple ATPL written exams . Different countries have different numbers of ATPL written exams . After attaining ATPL one is eligible to act as PIC on an aircraft weighing more than 5700 kg (or) 12500 pounds . CPL holder can act as PIC only on aircraft weighing less than 5700 kg , on above 5700 kg he can only act as Second in command ( SIC) .

The integrated flight training program generally refers to a full time commercial flight training course where all the licenses and certificates involved are completed with the same flight training school or organisation.The integrated training is generally high quality and intensive training program. Generally a few flying hours are required to obtain a Commercial Pilot License over here.A full time integrated course may usually take 14-20 months. On the other hand there is a modular flight training program. This program tends to be a little cheaper for the aspiring pilots as in this program you can complete different licenses one step at a time.
When applying for the post of commercial airline pilot, you have to undergo computer testing to assess your problem solving, critical thinking and personality abilities. Those who pass this test will then be scheduled for the interviews for situation-based situations. Once you are hired for this role, you will then go through skills and training checks throughout your career. Pilots also have to undergo physical tests from time to time to ensure they are fit for flying commercial planes.
